High school football has been under way for a couple of weeks and we plan to provide you with periodic recruiting updates as it pertains to commits from each service academy. We know service academy recruiting is its own animal, and we will do our best to get a look at as many recruits and commits throughout the season as we can. Here’s a look at a couple notable recruits from each school and how they have fared thus far:
Air Force
J.D. Kolb - RB, McQueen HS, Reno, NV
Kolb rushed 13 times for 211 yards and four touchdowns in a 27-13 win for McQueen this week. In Kolb’s first game of the season he rushed for three touchdown on 18 carries for 287 yards. He will be a fun player for Falcons fans to watch all season long.

Kenedy QB Dedrick Wilson will do his best to keep the Lions motivated this season as they look to make some noise. The Lions open at Karnes City Friday night. @DedrickTweets @KenedyISD @KSATbgc #KSATsports pic.twitter.com/JalIsNeqiS

Yes, we know this update was quarterback heavy, but many of these players are recruited to the academies for their overall athleticism. Look no further than Navy’s use of Zach Abey and Malcolm Perry over the last two years.
We will look to show some defensive commit love in next week’s recap.
