Army is the only AAE team in action this weekend, so all eyes will be on the Black Knights as they host the Minutemen of UMass. Navy will get a weekend’s rest before battling Notre Dame in a likely top-25 match-up next week while Air Force and New Mexico have rescheduled their original contest for November 23rd due to the recent and tragic death of New Mexico football player Nahje Flowers.

UMass at Army

Saturday, November 9 12:00 ET on CBSSN

Spread: Army -34.5

O/U: 61.5

Army beat the spread in its 4-point loss to service academy rival Air Force last week, thus breaking a five-game losing streak ATS. The Black Knights find themselves as the favorites for the seventh time this year and hold a 1-5 record ATS as the expected winners in 2019.

UMass is 1-8 ATS this year which includes a 1-7 record as the underdog. Being a double-digit underdog is familiar territory for the Minutemen as they are 0-6 ATS in those contests this year.

While Army hasn’t exactly shown they can cover as a 34.5 point favorite this year they did look their best against Air Force last week. UMass has double-digit losses to Southern Illinois and UConn; yes, that UConn. What does that mean? UMass is a bad football team, folks.

I fully expect the Black Knights to produce a comfortable home win at Michie Stadium and although this is a spread I would never touch, I BELIEVE they will cover in a high scoring game. Give me a 52-14 type of game and while that sounds absurd, just take a look at UMass’s scores this year.

Picks:

Army -34.5 - Moderate Risk

Over (61.5) - High Risk
