Well folks, the wrestling calendar for 2019 is wrapping up and Army and Air Force have been out of competition for the week. So this week’s recap will be focused on Navy’s matchup with Lock Haven at the Rumble in the Jungle 2019.
The Midshipmen entered the dual holding a 3-2 record, but unfortunately never led during Friday night’s action. The Bald Eagles jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first three matches with decisions over Cody Trybus and Wyatt Long followed by a pin on Scout Skidgel. Navy may have been down early, but they were far from out.
Navy rattled off five wins in the next six matches to cut the lead down to 16-15 entering the last match of the night. None of the five wins feature bonus points while Lock Haven notched a major decision over Andrew Buckley to ultimately keep themselves ahead.
DJ Fehlman defeated Casey Cobb at 133 lbs to end the dual with a score of 19-15 and dropping the Mids to 3-3 on the year. A few bright notes though: Spencer Carey notched his 47th career win, inching closer to the big 50 mark. Logan Treaster also won his fifth dual win as a first-year starter.
Navy also maintained two ranked wrestlers across the InterMat, FloWrestling, and TrackWrestling lists.

Up next the Mids will meet Air Force in the Southern Scuffle on January 1 and 2. Army will compete in the Midlands Championships at Northwestern to wrap up 2019.
Will there be a roundup next week? Maybe. Will it be focused on how college wrestling works? Also maybe. Stay tuned to find out.
