What a year it has been! Just 12-months ago we were scrambling around trying to find enough contributors to cover Army, Navy, and Air Force athletics before the fall 2018 season and we are thrilled you have found us along the way. We are constantly trying to think of new ways to provide some new coverage and we are excited for what we have in store for you this football season!

THE WHAT

In an effort to expand our base we recently launched a podcast and just this month committed to recording and publishing on a weekly basis. Check out our latest episode previewing Air Force’s schedule below to get an idea of what our show dedicated to covering service academy athletics is like!

Our podcast has expanded our brand significantly in just a few short months, but we decided that just wasn’t enough! We are going to take it one step further and now we are excited to announce our first ever live podcast recording! We are extremely fortunate to have the support of Mission BBQ in downtown Annapolis and have reserved the upstairs portion of the restaurant for our live show on Friday, August 30th from 5:00-6:30 PM.

THE WHY

Now, you may be asking “why this weekend?” - and that is a fair question. You see, Justin and I are members of the Naval Academy’s class of 2009 and we will be celebrating our ten-year reunion. That got us thinking about how we could spread the word regarding the awesome content that all the contributors put out here through SB Nation. After a number of ideas and discussions with our fearless brand leaders Matt Brown and Caroline Darney, we settled on seeking out a site that would host us for a live podcast recording and Mission BBQ happily obliged! It makes sense when you think about it too, you know, it is the restaurant that “proudly serves those who serve.”

THE WHO

We have a good time planned with guests such as Navy Football radio color commentator Joe Miller and former Navy and NFL fullback Eric Kettani. We will, at a minimum, have some AAE stickers to handout and just an all around good time where you can tell Justin and I what we should cover next.

And if that isn’t all, we have more fun in the works throughout the weekend. We are working on a collaboration with local Annapolis craft brewer Seawolf Brewery for a pre-game tailgate and hosting more exciting events together throughout the season. We can’t wait to partner with such a fantastic brand and look forward to great conversation with great beer! We will have more word to follow on that in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

THE OTHER WHAT

“Who cares Austin, I am an Army and Air Force fan.”

Well, first of all, that’s weird. You can’t be a fan of both, but let me tell you what is in the works. Our goal this Labor Day weekend is to create a fun atmosphere as proof-of-concept for an even bigger celebration for the Navy-Air Force game in October, the Air Force-Army game in November, and the Army-Navy game in December.

Help us achieve our vision by showing your support in Annapolis in just three weeks!
