The Military College of South Carolina has added a third game to their fall 2020 football schedule.
On Sept. 12, the Citadel Bulldogs will travel to the University of South Florida for a game in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium. The Citadel also has games scheduled at Clemson and a home game vs. fellow FCS side Eastern Kentucky.
USF had an open non-conference date after the MEAC canceled its fall sports season, scrapping the Bulls’ game vs. Bethune Cookman.
A time for kickoff has not yet been determined.
“Our football team is looking forward to the opportunity to compete against USF and we want to thank them for working with us on scheduling this game in these very difficult times,” Citadel AD Mike Capaccio said in a statement. “Our cadet-athletes will be excited to make this trip and we have a strong alumni base in the surrounding area.”

According to Jeff Hartsell at the Charleston Post & Courier, the Citadel will receive a guaranteed payout of $275,000 for playing USF. The Citadel is hoping to play four games this fall, the maximum non-conference games allowed by the SoCon.
This will be the third meeting between the Citadel and USF. The Bulls and Bulldogs split a home-and-home series in the late 90s.
