Navy will not play Tulsa in football this weekend.

The game — originally set for Saturday in Annapolis — has been postponed due to “positive COVID-19 cases at the Naval Academy and the ensuing quarantine of student-athletes,” according to a press release from Navy.

It is unclear how many positive COVID-19 cases there are exactly at the Naval Academy.

Navy and Tulsa do not share a common open week through the rest of the season. However, the American Athletic Conference will “consider a number of options.” to play the game.

The Midshipmen have paused all football-related activities.

“We are disappointed not to face Tulsa this weekend, however protocols and guidelines are very comprehensive both at the Naval Academy and within the American Athletic Conference,” Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk said in a statement. “There are a number of medical personnel that have reviewed all the related issues and, in the end, an administrative decision has been made that clearly reflects the safety and welfare of all involved with both institutions.”

The Mids are 3-4 on the season and 3-2 in AAC play, currently riding a two-game losing streak. Navy’s next game is scheduled for Nov. 14, a home contest vs. Memphis.
