When, Where the Academies will play in the NCAA Baseball Tournament

Two academies will make the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever

On Monday afternoon, the Field of 64 was announced for the NCAA baseball tournament. For the first time ever, two academies will compete in the big dance.

Air Force was the first academy to see its name read off the screen, traveling to Austin to face No.9 national seed, Texas. The Falcons took one of two against the Longhorns earlier this season, losing the second game on a walk-off homer.

The first pitch will take place on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET on Longhorn Network. Also in their region are Dallas Baptist and Louisiana Tech.

Later in the bracket reveal, Army learned that they’d be traveling down to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to face No.11 national seed, Southern Mississippi.

The Golden Eagles went 3-1 against SEC opponents this season, finishing with a 43-16 record. Last season, they dragged the regional out until Monday, losing to Ole Miss in the fifth game.

Also in the Black Knights region is Kennesaw State and LSU.

Army’s opening game will take place at 2:00 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon against Southern Mississippi. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
